The Week of Italian Cuisine in the World


The Week of Italian Cuisine in the World is an annual event primed to celebrate Italy’s incredibly

varied regional cuisine and food traditions with a wide array of events promoting culinary culture
and flavours to millions of consumers worldwide.

First time in New Zealand, organized by the Italian embassy in Wellington, which involved more then 30 restaurants in New Zealand ( Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington ) and hoping lots more next year.


I was personally very happy to be part of it especially because The week of Italian cuisine in the world it also included the candidacy of the Art of Neapolitan Pizzaiuoli as UNESCO Intangible  Heritage ( PIZZAUNESCO ) and my GIROPIZZA event at Settebello was a big success ( see the photos below )

At Italian embassy in Wellington, with Italian Ambassador and few other restaurateurs in Wellington






       Below some of the pizzas made for the guests that night at          Settebello



 Buffalo mozzarella,Capocollo, Stracciatella, Cherry tomatoes, Rocket salad and after cooked grated Cacioricotta

Buffalo mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, shaved garlic, white anchovies, parsley, a pinch of sea salt






San Marzano peeled tomato DOP, Buffalo mozzarella, Portobello mushroom, nduja di spilinga calabrese, gorgonzola cheese, after cooked a drizzle of truffle oil





5 Formaggi + 1: San Marzano peeled tomato DOP, Smoked Mozzarella, Taleggio, Buffalo ricotta, Gorgonzola cheese, Caciocavallo and Salame Napoli 






Salsiccia e friarielli: Smoked Mozzarella, Friarielli ( Italian Broccoli ), Pork fennel sausages and pecorino romano
